It gives us great pleasure to announce 2 new ‘2012’ entries to the SB5 Hall of Fame.
Sol Henare (Player – Pacific Islanders) 7 Lignano Caps 2006-2012
The 2012 Lignano International Cup / 1st EBRA European Cup was Sol’s 7th consecutive playing appearance at the tournament making him the most capped player in Super Beach 5’s Rugby history. After many years in Europe, Sol is returning to the South Pacific. For his contribution to both the tournament and the world of Super Beach 5’s Rugby, we salute you and are proud to add you to the SB5 Hall of Fame.
As it happens, there is another player close to this record, fellow Pacific Islander, Andre Gini with 6 Caps. Will Andre equal the record in 2013 and will he go one better in 2014 ? The SB5 Hall of Fame is beckoning, Andre! This is Super Beach 5’s Rugby. Not for your Average Guys.
Dave Drury (Referee WRU) 13 Lignano Caps 2001-2013
This years tournament marked Dave’s 12th consecutive refereeing appearance at Lignano. Without doubt he a ‘Living Lignano Legend’ and is by some distance the most capped Super Beach 5’s referee of all time. With stats like these, Dave is the greatest Super Beach 5’s Ref in the World ! For your immense contribution over the years, we salute you and are proud to enter you into the SB5 Hall of Fame. ***2013 Update – Now 13 Caps!!
