Dov’è Lignano?

With a local population of less than 7,000 inhabitants, during every Summer season, Lignano Sabbiadoro, approximately 40 minutes along the coast, east of spectacular city of VENICE, becomes host to more than 4 million tourists from all over Europe.

It is the largest Beach Resort in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and is home to the largest Marina on the Adriatic Coast. And with 5,000 yachting berths available, it is recognised as one of the largest Marina’s in the entire Mediterranean. In addition, it offers every variety of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourist attraction that every holiday-maker might possibly imagine.

And to top it all, it provides 8km of “Blue Flag”, soft, golden sandy beaches, from whence comes the name “Sabbiadoro”, meaning “Golden Sand”.

It was a favourite destination of Ernest Hemingway, who once called Lignano “The Florida of Italy”. And with so much more on offer, it’s unquestionably one of the Italy’s most important tourist destinations.
